This project is design based on the paper "Detection and Removal of Cracks in Digitized Paintings". The
project is designed to improvement in the quality of image after
restoration. The main content would be implement detection of cracks,
filtering out mis-identified cracks and crack filling in digitized
paintings. Detection of cracks on very dark image areas where crack
detection stage is not efficient. Use of non linear multichannel
.filters for crack .filling.The technique consists of the following stages:
- Crack detection;
- Separation of the thin dark brush strokes, which have been misidentified as cracks;
- Crack filling.
